Eden sticker exchange works for China Clay. The presentation of the Eden entry sticker for a £1 discount per person on admission to the China Clay Country Park has in its first week proved a great success. Over 100 visitors to Eden have, since the introduction of the promotion at the end of August, come on from there directly to China Clay to claim their reduced admission. Marketing Officer, Chris Carroll told the Western Morning News that he believes this is more than likely new visitors they would not have received without this offer. The sticker exchange deal has been prominently displayed on the China Clay advertisement hoardings clearly visible to motorists as they enter or exit Eden. “We are of course grateful to Eden for agreeing to this cross promotion with them, said Chris There have been days this summer when Eden has achieved record numbers with the rainy days clearly helping them. While we too are a good wet weather site our visitor numbers have been insignificant in comparison and like many other Cornish visitor attractions have suffered from the general down turn in tourists to the county. Albeit now late into the season any support we can get in this regard is much appreciated” China Clay is now gearing up for its Autumn promotional campaign that will more specifically target schools as well as local and National coach operators with coach driver incentives, discounted rates for groups to include free cream tea and lunch offers. The Country Park’s mid- summer visitor survey also threw up some surprising statistics with over half of their visitors coming from the County and where predominantly retired female with a specific interest in history and local culture as cited as their main reason for visiting. |
