China Clay Country Park - Interactive Visitor Centre

Our new visitor centre will take you back in time to see what life was like for the generations of families who lived and worked in Cornwall’s China Clay industry.

Home to a range of interactive displays, the visitor centre paints a vivid picture of the communities and people who spent their lives in the shadow of Cornwall’s white mountains.

In the visitor centre you can:

• Take a virtual drive to the bottom of a China Clay pit
• Discover the importance of China Clay to the modern world
• Take a test of strength by grappling against a village tug of war team
• See how clay is mined today and how things are changing
