Our museum is currently closed, but we want to continue telling our stories of Wheal Martyn and Clay Country, and most importantly, we want to keep engaging with you.

So, take on our creative challenges and get involved while you’re at home!

Celebrate Clay Country

Share your photos of Clay Country with us on social media with the hashtag #CelebrateClayCountry (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) – whether they’re old black and white photos or memories you have captured recently, we would love to see them! They might be from Carthew, from the clay pits at Wheal Martyn, or representing clay in some way. As we’re celebrating 200 years of Wheal Martyn this year, what better time is there to share memories and inspire everybody at home?

Get digging, and we’ll share our favourites every Saturday

Wheal Martyn Create

Every Monday, we’ll share a historic picture on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Your challenge is to recreate it in any way you can! Be as creative as you like, and have fun with it! Share your creations with us using the hashtag #WhealMartynCreate and we’ll share our favourites. Good luck!

If you would rather email us your photos, please send them to [email protected]
