One of five small visitor attractions to receive a national award in this category and the only one from the South West.

accredited museum
Full Museum Accreditation, retained in 2015 for the period until July 2018
Wheal Martyn first became an accredited museum in 1997 and retains it to this day. The scheme is now administered by Arts Council England.

Queen's Award
Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Sustainable Development category, 2014
Awarded to both South West Lakes Trust and Wheal Martyn Trust collectively, demonstrating the Trust’s innovative approach and commitment to sustainable development. This is the second time South West Lakes Trust received the accolade, the first being in 2010.

Awarded in 2015 as part of South West Lakes Trust’s periodic re-assessment
South West Lakes Trust have held the accreditation since 2002. During the 2015 review Wheal Martyn employees were included in the assessment process.
