Badger Forest School & Outdoor Learning are hosting fun family adventures in the beautiful woodland at Wheal Martyn throughout the year. Children and families can take part in a range of exciting outdoor activities including:
• Campfire cooking
• Making masks
• Building dens for the animals who live in the woods
• Going on a mini beast hunt
• Shelter building
• Nature crafts
• Face painting
New Visitors: £40 for family of 4; £22 for family of 2; Price for extra child: £7.50/ extra adult: £12.00
Price for Residents Pass holders: £20 for family of 4; £11 for family of 2; Price for extra child £5 / extra adult £6

Birthday Parties with Badger Forest School
Fancy something a bit more adventurous for your Birthday Party?
Wheal Martyn’s Badger Forest School parties offer 2 hours of fun exploring the woods with challenges, games, hunts, crafts and a campfire with drinks and snacks!
Themes could include:
Robin-Hood Pirates of Kernow Den and shelter building
Survival skills Nature kitchens The Gruffalo (or another favourite book!)
Teddy’s Picnic Woodland Fairies Animals and Dinosaurs
After burning off all that energy, finish with a Birthday Party Tea in Wheal Martyn’s café, with party food, decorations, and a cake!
Cost and Booking: £200. The optional extra of a Wheal Martyn Party Tea costs from £5.95 per child. A cake can be arranged, at an additional cost.
Deposit of £150 to BFS with booking. Payment on the day of £50 at Wheal Martyn till.
What shall I bring? Be prepared for fun in the woods, whatever the weather! Wear trainers or wellies, and bring waterproofs and layers if it looks like it may be chilly.
Snacks and drinks are provided under the camp fire shelter.

Badger Forest Schools – Educational Programme at Wheal Martyn
We are now able to offer Schools the chance to take part in outdoor learning through Badger Forest School activities at Wheal Martyn. The programme of enrichment days is delivered by Claire Whalley and her team of Level 3 trained Forest School Practitioners. The enrichment days get children and their teachers out in the fresh air, sharing and learning together in the woods, whilst supporting and extending their classroom learning.
Days in the wood generally integrate the following:
• Lighting fires
• Den building
• Campfire Safety
• Food prep and campfire cooking
• Outdoor science
• Nature games
• Treasure hunts
