The activities of the society include lectures, film shows, walks, field visits and occasional social events.

15 March 2018 – A talk by Robyn Raxworthy on the early history of Blackpool pit and Ivor Bowditch on ‘the Mineral Lords’. Robyn has been carrying out research for her PhD at the archive over the last two years as part of the Heritage Futures project being led by the University of Exeter.
Saturday 7 July 2018 – Guided walk around Bugle via public footpaths, led by Jenny Moore.

February 2015 – Ray Hingston gave a talk about the Mineral Records of Lanhydrock House. Colin Short gave a talk about the position of different Methodist sects in the 1913 china clay workers strike.
November 2014 – AGM followed by Film Night.
July 2014 – a guided walk up the Gover Valley, St Austell, led by Ivor Bowditch and Jenny Moore.
March 2014 – Colin Bristow gave an illustrated talk entitled “Memoirs of a Globetrotting China Clay Geologist: the Early History of ECC’s Overseas Activities”.
November 2103 – AGM followed by Film Night.
September 2013 – Ed Buscombe, Mining Technical Support Manager at Imerys, gave an illustrated talk entitled “China Clay Mining in Cornwall: The Way Forward”.
September 2013 – Events to commemorate the Centenary of the 1913 china clay strike and the Bugle baton charge.
July 2013 – Trewoon Village Hall Meeting to commemorate the start of the 1913 Clay Workers’ Strike at Carne Stents – TALK and WALK
July 2013 – Excursion to Tregargus Valley led by John Yeo, Ivor Bowditch and Monty Hooper.
March 2013 – Ivor Bowditch gave a talk on Heavy Earth Moving Equipment at Wheal Martyn.

February 2012 – Maurice Dart gave a talk at Wheal Martyn about Railways in the China Clay Area.

October 2011 – Ivor Bowditch led a visit to Par to see the remains of the Harbour, Slurry Plant and Buell Dryers, and to visit the Mill, Fluid Bed Dryer and Opacilite Plant.
August 2011 – Barbecue to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Society.
May 2011 – Walk in the Fal Valley from Wheal Remfry to Collins Dry.
February 2011 – Talks by Colin Bristow about canals at Carclaze and Scredda, and by Jim Lewis about the Par canal.

February 2010 – illustrated talks by Charles Thurlow – “Industries of the Pentewan Valley” and Bob Evans of the Pentewan Old Cornwall Society – “The Pentewan Railway”.
November 2009 – Annual Film Show, including an item on the Cornwall Aviation Company. There was also a static display of model railways.
