History and where we live: challenging stereotypes

February 27 @ 10:00 am - 3:30 pm

There is more to Cornish history than pasties, piskies and Poldark! Join us at Wheal Martyn on Wednesday 27th February, 10.00am – 3.30pm, to find out what lies behind the ‘romantic’ image of Cornwall and learn about the history they didn’t teach you at school!

This event is ideal for people thinking about getting into Higher Education, or changing direction with a new qualification. The day will include a tour of the clay works and a session on the site’s history, led by museum staff.

By the end of the day, you will have:

-Developed an understanding of how history affects our lives today

-Become aware of significant, but under-reported events in Cornish history

-Developed an understanding of how communities can influence the way they are seen by others

Free to attend. To find out more and register an interest, contact Mike at CN4C at mtresidder@cn4c.org.uk or phone 01209 310616.
