Mevagissey Shanty Festival comes to Wheal Martyn! Join us to celebrate the sea, the summer and Cornwall with an evening jam-packed full of shanties and song. Sing along whilst raising funds for Wheal Martyn Trust and the Mevagissey Shanty Festival, 13-15 October 2024.

The line up:

The Stuns'ls

Stuns'ls are an international performing shanty group, with a passion for harmonies, heritage and Cornwall. We are a light hearted bunch, formed in Mevagissey, Charlestown and Truro Cornish Pilot gig rowing clubs and named one of our earliest songs 'Old Maui'.

over the last two-three years we have had the honour of singing for King Charles and the Queen Consort, appeared in Rick Steins Cornwall (2021) and were the voices for Visit Cornwall's G7 campaign, whilst also performing for BBC Radio, BBC Spotlight and German TV.

We strive to make those chords ring and to put a smile on our audiences faces whilst ensuring that we promote Cornish harmonies and songs of the sea.

The Shantillies

Brought together by out love of the sea, we are six West Penwith maids who sing of love, life and water! Kept in time (but never in order) by our very own percussionist, Steve from the Foghorn Three.

The Seven Bays Ukes

Seven Bays Ukes are now in their third year of playing together as a club and cover a variety of songs not usually associated with the ukulele. Our 'playlist' includes songs by U2, Stereophonics, Oasis, the Kinks, Amy Winehouse, ELO and of course the Beatles as well as a host of other familiar songs!

We have a lot of fun making music and performing together, which is apparent from our performances, and we hope that you too will enjoy our set.
