WW1 Film Evening
November 8 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
On Thursday 8 November, Wheal Martyn is hosting a film evening with Carn to Cove, marking the centenary of the Armistice, and dedicated to those who fell in World War One.
There will be a showing of ‘Cornish Tommies’ – a C Fylm short documentary drama, directed by young Cornish graduates. It tells the story of an 18 year old Cornish miner called up in 1917, who served and was severely injured in the trenches during the last year of the war. Evacuated to Blighty, he was awarded the DCM (Distinguished Conduct Medal) and settled back in his village where he was a noted singer in the village choir.
This showing will be followed by the film Dawn Patrol, by Sir. Edmund Goulding, 1938: ‘British flying aces in World War I contend with the harsh realities of war.’
Tickets will be on sale through CRBO, £6 or £5 for C Fylm members.
