Visiting during Covid-19 Find out how we are keeping visitors safe during Covid-19. Our extensive historic grounds and largely outdoor museum offer a safe space to reflect, soak up the natural environment and enjoy a sense of normality away from crowds of people in a wonderful historic setting. The layout of Wheal Martyn allows us to offer an experience that avoids close contact with other visitors. You can either arrive and buy your tickets on entry or book online. We know that Covid-19 has not gone away and still maintain the following precautions to ensure your visit is safe: Keeping you safe during your visit Our door will be pinned open and we have hand sanitiser stations at various points around the museum Protective screens are in place at the admissions desk and some screening between tables in the cafe (we also have lots of outdoor seating!) All doors and gates are pinned open where possible We have trained our staff to be COVID-safe and carried out COVID risk assessments Some of our interactive features remain unavailable We have enhanced cleaning regimes in our public spaces, toilets and regular touch points. We are unable to clean the historic features, museum displays and objects but it is safe for you to enjoy all of these without touching them. While you are at Wheal Martyn Please wear a face mask in the indoor spaces if you are able to do so and take note of our safety notices Please sanitise your hands on arrival and during your visit Please give other visitors extra space as you move around the museum Please respect our team and other visitors Tickets We no longer require pre-booking but you may chose to do so, to minimise your check in time on the day of your visit. For pre-booking online click here. Please ensure you print your tickets or save them on your mobile, ready to show on arrival. Our booking system will ask if you would like to Gift Aid your ticket. If you are a UK tax payer, please consider opting for this – it enables our charity to claim an additional 25% of your ticket value from the government at no extra cost to you. Our spacious grounds means that Wheal Martyn never feels over crowded, however if you would like to avoid the busiest times or for extra reassurance, you can always call 01726 850362 ahead of visiting to check how busy we are at a particular time.
