Embark on a journey of discovery at Wheal Martyn this winter!

Follow the water's historic path through our clay works, originally established in the 1820s. The tranquil sound of water running through the launders—a network of wooden channels—will accompany you as you explore the serene calm of the settling tanks and the engineering wonder of the 120-year-old waterwheel.

With beautiful views overlooking the engine house and chimneys, a new delight awaits around every corner. Bring the family or your canine companion to unearth the secrets and beauty of our historic grounds.

This season, we offer a variety of themed trails, perfect for the little ones. Explore our Angel Trail, featuring angels individually decorated by our local community groups and partners or follow the fun reindeer on a festive Sensory Story. Join the Little Reindeer on her adventure as she sets off from her woodland home to find the lost presents. Both trails are available until Tuesday 23 December so make sure to plan your visit before Christmas!
