"Lovely place to visit. We have two small dogs and the whole site .. including cafe .. is dog friendly. Good information and lovely walks for families and dog owners."

We only ask that you clear up after your dog and keep them on a lead to avoid disturbance to wildlife and to ensure everyone has an enjoyable visit.

Walking trails at Wheal Martyn...

Wheal Martyn is a Scheduled Ancient Monument where you can follow the historic trail and see our working waterwheels, settling tanks, crib hut and more. We also have the 'pit view' trail which leads to the view point where you can look upon the vast open cast mine. Along our nature trails we have the engine house to view, benches to sit and have a picnic and even an outdoor play area. Whether you would like to enjoy peaceful walks, play and explore, or learn about history through our signs, there will be something for everyone. Click here to download a map of the Wheal Martyn trails or pop into reception to pick up a printed copy.

Through the seasons...

Our woodland walks are beautiful throughout all of the seasons and once you buy a ticket, you can return as many times as you like for a full year!

Why not come and visit regularly to see beautiful colourful blooms in spring and summer, the gentle rustle of golden leaves in autumn, or enjoy the crisp air through winter?

Our cafe...

Whether you need an ice cream in summer or a cosy drink in winter, our vibrant dog-friendly cafe welcomes you and your dog!

Our cafe is situated in the old clay works and you can find a delicious selection of homemade lunches, cakes and other Cornish treats.

We will also happily pack up takeaway boxed to take on our walk and we even have a tasty Little Miners menu for our younger visitors.
