Born in Cornwall’s Clay Country, Richard Trethewey is a singer, fiddle and cittern player delivering his distinct take on Cornish music, giving Cornwall a truly authentic voice. Passionate about unearthing near-forgotten gems of Cornish history, Richard breathes life and emotion into what might otherwise be overlooked.

This is a rare opportunity to see Richard performing solo. He will perform material from his new album 'Two Halves' as well as some other favourites from his repertoire.

Two Halves presents one side of songs and music inspired by stories from Cornwall’s wonderfully evocative river estuaries. The second half is more akin to his debut album ‘Dig Where You Stand’ and tells stories associated with Cornwall’s industrial heritage.

Richard will also show some of the films he has made which accompany some of the songs from the album including Frenchman's Creek, Hope in a Jam Jar, Bringing the Harvest Home and Queen of the Cornish Rhine.

As well as an opportunity to experience some fantastic Cornish music, this event helps support the charitable work of Wheal Martyn Trust (Charity no. 1001838), with money raised from ticket sales contributing to our fundraising.

To balance our fundraising needs with the reality of the current cost of living challenge our customers face, we have made this a pay what you can event. Simply pick the price you wish to pay (between £5 and £15). Age 12 and under free.
