Fundraising events are an important way of securing the funds we need to develop the work of our charity.

We currently run two annual fundraising events.

Please note: Due to Covid-19, these events have been cancelled for 2020. However, if you would like support our museum, please donate. We are grateful for every donation.

Pre-loved clothes fashion show and sale

Our fashion shows are one of the highlights of the year! The event is all about encouraging environmentally friendly fashion, through the up-cycling and re-use of pre-loved clothes.

The night kicks off with a fashion show featuring our volunteer models, followed by a sale of quality pre-loved clothing and a chance to enjoy a glass of wine or locally distilled gin!

The event is generously supported by Santander Bank, who match everything we raise up to the value of £1,500, meaning that every pound you give is worth two.

NEXT EVENT - Cancelled

CLOTHES - If you would like to donate good quality, pre-loved clothes, shoes or accessories for the event, please get in touch!

Sponsored walk

Our annual sponsored walk provides an opportunity to take in some of the fantastic scenery around Cornwall’s clay country while helping to raise funds for the museum.

NEXT EVENT Cancelledclay country view

Funds will help us to buy a defibrillator for Wheal Martyn, and for Treverbyn Community Hall to carry out essential annual maintenance on their own defibrillator, which costs approximately £350 per year. This is a much needed piece of life saving equipment for both us and the community hall, which will be of value to our communities.

The walk is typically around four miles long. Details of the route will be available closer to the date, so keep an eye out!

We ask participants to seek sponsorship in support of Wheal Martyn, from friends, relatives and colleagues.  It’s never too early to start – you can download a sponsorship form and register to take part.

Pre-booking: £5.00 per person (call 01726 850362, email Sue Ford or pop into the museum).

Join on the day: £7.00 per person
